ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
ReNew has an established Environmental & Social Management System (ESMS) which defines a set of policies, procedures, tools and internal capabilities to identify and manage its exposure to the environmental and social risks based on international norms from IFC, ADB, OPEC, FMO, DEG, Gurantco, RABO, JERA and IREDA etc. and aligns its approach to mitigate any impact on people, environment & communities.
As part of its ESMS, ReNew has a well-designed environmental monitoring system under the ESMS manager. The designated officer is responsible for:
-
- Tracking performance and comparing against the established benchmarks or requirements in the ESMS
- Recording information in order to track performance and establish relevant operational controls
- Establishing key quantitative and qualitative measures for social, environment, health and safety indicators
- Verifying compliance against the national laws and regulations and investors’ safeguard requirements, and progress towards the desired outcomes
- Reflecting the necessary corrective and preventive actions in the ESMS
- Implementing the suggested mitigation measures according to ESMP for each site
The ESMS data is monitored at the asset level and performance monitoring is carried out annually. An official review of the ESMS document would be undertaken every three (3) years by the QHSE department and the changes are to be incorporated within the document.

THE ROAD TO EXCELLENCE AT RENEW
A great organization is distinguished from others to not only by its ability to reach the “Prime” but to stay there for long by always revisiting your targets and raising the bar. The secret sauce for this is Excellence. Therefore, ReNew too has decided to embark on this journey of excellence to join the league of the world’s best organizations.

BUSINESS EXCELLENCE AT RENEW
ReNew initiated Road to Excellence Program to ensure we achieve our vision efficiently and effectively. Renew chose European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) excellence model for this excellence journey. It is a globally-recognized management framework which allows organizations to achieve success by measuring where they are on the path towards transformation, helping them understand the gaps and possible solutions available, and empowering them to progress and significantly improve their organization’s performance.
Renew achieved 5 star rating recognized by EFQM in July 2021. Renew is the first renewable company in the world with 5 star rating against the new model. It is also the first power generation company in Asia to achieve 5 star rating and the first company in India to get 5 star rating in all sectors in last 5 years.
In this ongoing journey, we will continue improving and raising the bar in organizational excellence.
